The 16.49 acre oceanfront property is located in Port Heiden, Alaska on the Bering Sea, the city has just over 100 fulltime citizens. Port Heiden is located 424 miles southwest of Anchorage at the mouth of the Meshik River on the north side of Alaska Peninsula. Port Heiden has regular scheduled air service; otherwise, the only access is by boat, there is no road connecting to Anchorage. The property is situated on the bluff ground overlooking the beach about 1 mile south of the main village. It's clear and level. The bluff ground is about 15 feet higher than the beach, and the property does include some beach land. Please examine the map and property carefully, as not all the 16.49 acres is build-able, there is a portion that is part of the beach. Goldfish Lake is east the property, and the south portion of the lake was breached last fall, so the lake is about empty and now dry land, so there's little danger of encroachment onto the property. There were oil tanks on a nearby property that were cleaned up in June 2009 (pdf of history available). The pictures below of the bluff were taken on the property, the other pictures are of the general area and attractions.

The property is off grid, but there is power in the village, which has a store and a community center. Phone and internet are available. There are no property taxes.

Lots of good hunting and fishing in the area. Recreational activities are primarily outdoor activities tied to hunting, fishing, and wildlife viewing. Recreation and tourism are highly tied to the adjoining Aniakchak National Monument and Preserve which is utilized for river rafting and commercially guided hunting and fishing. Caribou, brown bear, waterfowl, and moose are the major wildlife resources in the Region.

Today, Port Heiden is the doorstep to some of the Alaska Peninsula�s most stunning scenery and geographic ranges, which include the Aniakchak Crater and volcano. Port Heiden provides strategic access to some of the most unspoiled sport fish and trophy hunting Alaska has to offer. Access to the area is limited to marine, river, or air transport. Skiffs, ATVs and snow machines are the primary means of local transportation. Travel on the western beaches is possible with four-wheel drive vehicles.
