This level to gently rolling 2.89 Acres is nestled in the rolling hills of Huerfano County, in Southern Colorado, next to the Rocky Mountains, a short distance from the historic Santa Fe Trail. This is a beautiful flag parcel with a seasonal stream that runs just behind the land. Several homes have been built in the Rio Cucharas subdivision, the nearest is about a quarter-mile away at this time. The closest town is Walsenburg, about 10 minutes away, which has most services and necessities. Pueblo is about 45 minutes to the North, and it is about an hour and a half to Colorado Springs and two and a half hours to Denver.

Elevation: about 6445 feet above sea level.

The property is very level and has good year-round road access. There are a few scattered trees and bushes on the lot. There are nice mountain views and it's a quiet and peaceful area. The Lathrop State Park is a short drive away with excellent fishing and hunting for turkeys, grouse and pheasant. The National Forest and BLM land also have lots of wildlife including elk, deer, bighorn sheep, pronghorn antelope and small game.

Near Walsenburg is Lathrop State Park, which is a great place to fish, hike, swim and watch wildlife. Horseshoe Lake and Martin Lake are located inside the park and are known for their fishing, boating and water skiing. There is a golf club/course nearby. The town of Walsenburg also has a great new swimming pool with a large water slide. The Taos Valley and Wolf Creek ski and snowboard areas are the closest that I know of from here and are a couple of hours away. San Isabel National Forest is just half an hour from here and has tens of thousands of acres of public land with wildlife and places to hike, ride horses, mountain bike, etc.Downtown Walsenburg is an 8 mile drive Southeast from the lot. The Walsenburg Golf Course, Yucca Campground, Horshoe Lake, Martini Lake, and Lathrop State Park are a 5 mile drive South. Colorado City is a 25 mile drive North along Highway 25.
